Hrafnhildur Arnardttir
Gallery 07
August 31 2019 - August 92020

Hrafnhildur Arnardttir (born 1969) has resided in New York since her graduation from School of Visual Arts in 1996.

Creativity, humor and influences from pop culture are strong characteristics in her work. Site-specific installations, sculptures and murals created from material such as multicolored synthetic hair, plastic or lights are typical aspects of her work during the last two decades. Arnardttir has also collaborated with a number of artists incl. the musician Bjrk for the cover of her album Medlla in 2004.

Arnardttirs exhibition is installed in gallery 07, which is a space dedicated to museum-education. This is very fitting, since her colorful work particularly appeals to children of all ages as well as the child in all of us with its world of adventures, imagination and playfulness.

Arnardttir, who is also known as Shoplifter, will represent Iceland at the Venice Biennale 2019.
