Aðalsteinn Þórsson (born 1964) studied at The School of Visual Arts in Akureyri and later in the Netherlands, where he graduated with a Master of Arts degree from the Dutch Art Institute, in 1998. He has worked since as an artist in Rotterdam, but moved home to Eyjafjörður last spring. Aðalsteinn is known for his use of diverse materials and work methods. Last year he published on his blog www.teikningadag2016.blogspot.com, one drawing per day, the whole year around.
Aðalsteinn titles this exhibition The Personal Collection, May 2017. It is a long-term project which started in 2002, where Aðalsteinn collects casual leftovers from his personal consumption, or shows documents of the consumption. The exhibition is the status check for May 2017.
