August 25ᵗʰ - October 21ˢᵗ 2018

Sigurður Árni Sigurðsson was born in Akureyri 1963. He has been working in visual arts both in France and Iceland since his graduation from Institut des Hautes Études en Art Plastiques, Paris 1991. He has held dozens of solo exhibitions and his work is owned by all the major museums in Iceland as well as several ones in Europe. Artworks by Sigurður can be found in several public spaces: Sólalda at Sultartangavirkjun, the glass piece Ljós í skugga at Hlíð, the seniors home in Akureyri, and the outdoor piece L'Eloge de la Nature in Loupian, Pyrénées-Méditerranée, France.

Sigurður Árni’s art draws the viewers attention towards the connection between reality and ideas and the relationship between objects and appearance. His artworks are a dialogue of spaces: the space between the two-dimensional and the three-dimensional, background and foreground, light and shadow.
