Influx is a retrospective exhibition from Guðm. Ármann‘s 65 years long career, the oldest work from 1970. A distinctive feature in this exhibition is the artist‘s diverse quest for his artistic rendering – from realistic to abstract – where the motive fades until only the line, form and color remains. Two dimentional visual art – paintings, prints and drawings – play the main role, although one can see a few three-dimentional works created out of battered pieces of wood.

Guðmundur Ármann (born 1944) has a long career in visual arts and as an art teacher. He has held around 52 solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Iceland and abroad. He finished his studies in print graphics 1962, graduated from the Icelandic College of Art and Crafts 1966 and studied at the Valand Academy of Art and Design in Sweden 1966-1972. He moved to Akureyri 1972 to work as an art teacher, finished his teacher‘s degree at the University of Akureyri 2002 and an M.Ed degree also at the University of Akureyri.
