A! is a four-day international performance art festival held annually. The festival is a collaborative project between the Akureyri Art Museum, the Akureyri Theatre Company, Hof Cultural Centre of Akureyri, the Gil Society, the Art Department of Akureyri Comprehensive College (VMA) and the Akureyri Visual Arts Society, with events held in the town's various cultural venues.
A! is a unique festival dedicated exclusively to performance art. The program features a wide variety of performances and theatre-related works of all kinds. Participants include young and up-and-coming artists, alongside experienced and well known performance artists, dancers, and theatre professionals, from both Iceland and abroad.
Every year, the festival transforms Akureyri into a melting pot of exciting events.
Admission to all events is free.
