MAGNÚS’ SPIRITUAL VALUE-WHEELS
16.15.2026 – 06.089.2026
Gallery 04 05

Magnús Helgason was born in Reykjavík in 1977 and has lived and worked in Akureyri since 2016. He graduated from AKI Academy of Art & Design, in The Netherlands in 2001 and has ever since been dedicated to visual arts, photography and experimental filmmaking.
This exhibition is an attempt to lead nature’s energy, which streams from the electric outlets of Akureyri Art Museum, into electrically driven, kinetic artwork which will then sprinkle spiritual value over the viewers.
„Art has many different purposes. It can expose unjustice and make us aware of improvements needed in our society. Art can sometimes drive changes, but also has the freedom to be pointless. The artist can do what he does – just because! My aim is not to change the world, rather to offer worry-free moments. My work should be a surprise, a beautiful shot of joy for the viewer. I want my work to evoke a childlike joy and I want it to dash past the brain and straight into everyones‘ hearts.
